Eligible Enrollments: Full-time, Part-time

Degrees/Programs: Graduate degree

Student Types: Current graduate students

Additionally, students applying for this scholarship must:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
  • Submit a research proposal that is consistent with the mission of Trout Unlimited.
  • Be seeking funding for a project that takes place in North America.

    • KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc. You can find your school’s COA online or by asking your financial aid office.

     Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution. We will send one check for the full academic year and ask them to split it evenly between fall and spring semesters. If you’d like it to be applied/split differently, please just let us know.

    This scholarship is a one-time award, meaning that it will not repeat in subsequent years. The money awarded can be applied to your education costs alongside other scholarships or funding that you may receive, and there are no necessary steps once funds are sent.

    More About This Scholarship Fund

    This research grant was established by the Kalamazoo Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (KVCTU). Their goals are to preserve wild rivers, clean up polluted waters, maintain early warning Water Quality Surveillance programs, educate the public through workshops and seminars, and speak for the concerns of all anglers and conservationists.

    Notifications & Payment Sent

    The successful candidate will be notified in early spring and receive the grant upon the return of a letter of acceptance for their award.
